Night photography of wildlife

Our water station is located in a forest glade, where many animal & bird species thrive.
Here you can study & photograph the wild animals that show up at a distance of a few meters.
This forest change is privately owned, which means that the area and the animals protected by helping them with settlements and a pleasant environment.

Chance to see wildlife during the night.

Upon arrival, we take a simple & quick coffee for you to get the information you need.
After a 10-minute drive and about 100 meters on foot, the guide will guide you to the hiding place and on your own you will begin the exciting reconnaissance.
When darkness falls & the studio lights come on, there is a good chance that the badger will come, maybe even the fox, the marten or an owl.
It can take time, so try to sleep in batches, one scout and one sleeping.
During the morning hours you have the chance to photograph small birds, woodpeckers & squirrels in natural light.
The hiding place is left in just the right time for cooing stomachs to partake of the breakfast buffet at 08:45.
Maybe you have been awake all night and need to rest before returning home. Welcome to use one of our guest rooms.

Photographing

The hiding place has one-way glass (spy glass). 180x20cm, which you can photograph through.
Under the glass there are two photo windows in fabric.
The photo windows in fabric can be replaced with one-way glass.
The waterbed starts right in front of the hideout and reaches 5 meters away.
For photography of foxes and badgers, 100-200 mm is suitable. For smaller animals, 300-600 mm is suitable. The wildlife can get very close so zoom lenses are the best solution. In the hiding place are prayer bags and tripod heads with arca swiss mounts. There is a shelf for photography with prayer bags / tripod heads. If you prefer to use your tripod, this shelf can be easily folded down so that you can shoot through a one-way glass. Shooting through the one-way glass does not affect contrast or sharpness, but you lose about 1.3 steps of light.
This hiding place is adapted for 2 people, which is also needed because someone has to look all the time. There are 2 chairs, a bed with sleeping bag & pillow and a simple toilet. Warm lined ponchos & thick slippers are also available. The ceiling height is 170-210 cm & the size / depth of the water table is 490 x 180 cm / -8 cm.
