The eagle watching has been really good during Fe

The eagle watching has been really good during February. Today it was my turn to try the luck and it became an amazing day! At least 3 golden eagles and 3 white tailed eagles. Plus a fox who showed up so many times! And also Mr and Mrs Grey headed woodpecker plus all the small birds and squirrels.
I didnt even had time to eat my lunch!
Thank you Nature for this unforgettable day!🙏🌲

Finally lots of snow! That means more action at our hides! The goshawk has been very active at our little hide the last days. I was there myself 3 days ago and had it 4 metres away for 1,5 hour.✨

”Our first night in a hide turned out to be an absolutely exciting, amazing experience.
First of all we experienced Sara’s warm hospitality in a cozy atmosphere. We were very impressed by her vast knowledge of wild animals. The night later in the hide was fantastic. The smell of the forest, all the birds and squirrels…the animal sounds, the special light, the sun setting… and then he came, the bear. An experience for the soul and heart. Its been 2 weeks with less bear sightings, probably because of the early blueberry season. We do everything we can to get the bears to show them selves, but in the end they always decide them selves.

The badgers comes almost every night and its really great to sit in the hide, with lights on, and see them at 5 metres distance. Sometimes its only one, sometimes its up to four individuals. In the afternoon and morning you can meet all the small wildlife such as woodpeckers, squirrels and small birds.

Its exciting and beautiful to see the kestrels 9-10 metres away at the same level. This activity is 3 metres from the ground and on a wooden platform inside a barn. If you can climb a ladder you can get great photos of this little bird of prey 🙂

Luca & Natan, two french students, made their inte

Luca & Natan, two french students, made their internship for 3 weeks at Wild Nordic. Their programme is called “Higher Technician in Nature Management and Protection”. They have done it all; cleaned the ski guest apartment, taking care of daily work at the hides, guided guests, renovating and sorting things out. And also seen eagles, fox, gos hawk and other wildlife. Ive had a lot of help and Im happy I got to know these two amazing wildlifelovers!

The first buzzard showed up yesterday, 27th of Feb

The first buzzard showed up yesterday, 27th of February, at our hide. Its very early, use to take a few more weeks before we see the first one in this area.
So! It means that spring will come even this year!🥰

Tiny, beautiful and a favourite - the red poll/gråsiska.
Many of them at the eagle hide today, also white tailed eagles, golden eagle, fox and the first buzzard of the year 😊👌🏻

GREAT NEWS! In April we will arrange the activity

GREAT NEWS! In April we will arrange the activity black grouse lek again! And also capercaillie!
And we will have a new & beautiful activity in May & June, with the common kestrels.

Your guide will be Pierrick / @surrounding_wilderness , our fantastic bird lover and creator of many activities at Wild Nordic.
